PC Laptop Computers

For the past 10 years, we have seen incredible growth specific to technology.  Everywhere you look, modern conveniences can be found, one of the greatest and most prized being PC laptop computers.  In addition to better computers from an operation standpoint, laptops are also smaller, faster, and less expensive.  If you need a laptop computer for business travel, use one while away at college, or you simply like having one close by while on vacation, you will be amazed at the vast options.  The primary choice is the traditional laptop but you could also look at a notebook, which is simply a smaller and lighter weight computer, one that is highly portable.

PC laptop computers are more powerful, robust, and even affordable than ever before.  In fact, people can now choose monitors measuring 17 inches in size or more, making viewing easier.  Some of the new features associated with today’s laptop computers include web cams, built-in keyboards and mouse, longer lasting batteries, DVD playing and burning, and more.

When shopping for laptop computers, you will find thicknesses of 0.7 to 1.5 inches.  Being so slim makes it possible to carry the computer in a computer bag with ease.  Computers are also designed in a wide range of computer and monitor sizes, between 10x8 inches and 13-inch, and 15x11 inch and 17-inch respectively.  As mentioned, choosing a computer with a 17-inch monitor makes it easier to see things on the
screen, which means less eyestrain. 

Because PC laptop computers have built-in keyboards, mice, monitors, etc, these are designed with a flip down top that protects everything on the inside.  With this and the weight of less than 12 pounds, you would simply place the laptop inside the laptop bag and go wherever you need to go.  Again, if you travel for fun or business, taking a laptop along has never been easier.

The “PC” is an acronym that means “personal computer” due to its portability.  The first PC laptop computers were developed in the early part of 1970.  While this was an incredible technological breakthrough, these computers were very heavy, they had limited features, and the price tag was steep.  Then in 1972, the Dynabook computer was created by a Xerox PARC employee named Alan Kay.  Move ahead to 1982 and the Osborne 1 and Epson HX-20 were introduced.  These were improvements but they were still heavy and expensive.

Now looking at PC laptop computers on the market, we see a complete evolution.  As mentioned, today’s laptops are small, extremely lightweight, affordable, powerful, and loaded with timesaving features.  Even batteries that we see in PC laptop computers now being sold are different, designed to offer better and more power while also lasting much longer than earlier versions.  Back in the 1970s and 1980s, the price for a laptop was easily $6,000 and up, meaning few people could afford one.  PC laptop computers can be purchased today for $700 or less, giving everyone the same opportunity to buy.

Whether using a PC laptop computer for schoolwork, business while traveling, for online gaming, research, or any other purpose, owning one is easy with prices being so low and wireless technology making the laptops mobile.  In looking back at how far laptops have come, it is exciting to think what the future holds.  You can now purchase interchangeable computers, which means if you travel or plan to move to a foreign country, the processor, hard drive, and other peripherals would work.  PC laptop computers are without doubt one of the best investments a person can make.
